Dear WMKA Dojo Owners,
We hereby announce the application procedure for the events. Please arrange your schedule for the events and submit your application to Okinawa Headquarters by each due date.
1. Application due date for the participation;
(1) Tentative application due date for the events ; May 31, 2014
We want a rough grasp of the number of participants for the events so we can be better prepared for them . Of course, you can revise it in your final application. We just need the names of those who wish to visit Okinawa. If you can’t name them yet, please just report the approximate number from your Dojo.
(2) Final Application due date for the events ; July 31, 2014
We hope you have arranged your schedule for the events and are ready to submit your final application.
We will post the “Final application format” on WMKA Website Dojo page in June, 2014.
(3) Participation fees for the events( Karate-do seminar, Exchange Demonstration & Exchange Party) will be 20,000 yen as same as last time. The fees will cover 3-days of lunches with soft drinks as well as food and drinks (including alcoholic drinks) at the Exchange Party on the last evening. If you only attend the Exchange Demonstration and Exchange Party, the fees will be 10,000 yen.
2. Dan promotion test application.
(1) Tentative application due date for the Dan promotion test ; May 31, 2014
We want to grasp the approximate number of participants for the test so that we can prepare for the test better. We just want to know how many of your students want to take their test in Okinawa.
Of course, you can revise it in your final application. You don’t need to submit “WMKA Request for dan certificate” now.
(2) Final Application due date for the Dan promotion test ; July 31, 2014
We hope by now you have decided who will take the Dan promotion test and can send your final “WMKA Request for Dan Certificate” application. However, you don’t need to pay the fees now but instead will pay them after the test in Okinawa.
Dan promotion test procedure and fees will be stated in attached “ Dan Promotion Test requirement”.

Remarks:
1. We will follow the Dan promotion test procedure stated in the “WMKA Agreement with Dojo Owner” and will adopt rules in Okinawa for “Required years, Minimum age and Promotion test fees” which isn’t clearly stated in the “ WMKA Agreement with Dojo Owner”.
2. We can award the appellation Renshi who passed 6th dan test. But one has to win the appellation, it is not automatically attached to 6th dan.
3. We can award the appellation Kyoshi who passed 7th & 8th dan. But one has to win the appellation, it is not automatically attached to 7th & 8th dan.
4. We can award the appellation Hanshi who passed 9th dan . . But one has to win the appellation, it is not automatically attached to 9th & 10th dan.
5. The 5th dan and above promotion test will be tested by Okinawan Judges in Okinawa or during karate-do seminars given overseas.
6. The oral and written test questions will be based on “The Essence of Okinawan Karate-Do” written by the Founder of Matsubayashi-Ryu Karate-Do Osensei Shoshin Nagamine.
7. Any person who wants to take the dan promotion test for Renshi 6th dan and above has to submit a report, within one page of letter size, attached to their “WMKA request for Dan Certificate”. You can choose the title of your report from “About Matsubayashi-ryu Karate-do” or “Karate and my Life”
8. Any person who wants to take a dan promotion test has to follow the WMKA procedure and has to submit “WMKA Request for Dan Certificate” but will pay the fees only after the test in Okinawa. The required years will be counted on November 2, 2014. You must attach a copy of your current “WMKA Dan Certificate and your current photograph”.
※Okinawa Headquarters’ testing committee can give a chance for dan promotion test or appellation to the persons who have a special situation or are very excellent in their karate performance or activities.
